Early departure to Ouarzazate via the High Atlas Mountains (pass of Tizi n’Tichka 2260m). Then, we will be joining the sub-Saharan landscapes that welcome you to the dry part of Morocco before arriving at Draa Valley. Crossing the Saghro mountain at Tinififite pass (1660 m) to reach Agdez, the village where the windy road takes us through nice villages and palm groves until Zagora. Meeting our local camel team to start our short desert trek of 1 hour and 30 minutes (More or less, it depends on the season) before reaching our first camp.
We start our day trek in the desert at Nasrati dunes and a large plateau before arriving at the oases and the village of Sidi Salah. Enjoy lunch either at the exit of the village. In the afternoon, we continue for a short hike in the desert, crossing the dry riverbed of Draa Valley. We then reach the scenic dunes of Tidri, where our campsite will be set up.
We start our day’s desert trek with a short climb to the top of Tidri Mountain, where we enjoy a panoramic and beautiful view. Turning south, the route alternates between Saharan dunes and expansive landscapes. We set up the campsite in the dunes of Erg Sahel and have lunch at the campsite.
We head west from the dunes of Erg Sahel for a nice journey in a Saharan universe, crossing open spaces dotted with residues of old pottery, and arriving at the dunes of Erg Lahniti for lunch on the way under Acacia Tree shade.
We cross the dunes of Lahniti and Daraa to join the largest palm grove of Oulad Driss, we continue walking through this palm groves, our desert trekking included by the visit of Oulad Driss village with a interesting museum. In the afternoon after lunch we drive and back to Ouarzazate over night in Ait Benhaddou village in the hotel, dinner included.
After breakfast, we set off to begin our day by visiting Ksar Ait Benhaddou. We’ll then drive along the picturesque Ounilla Valley, passing through Telouet villages and crossing several charming settlements. As we traverse the stunning landscape, we’ll eventually reach the Tichka Pass and continue our journey to Marrakech.

Breakfast, tea, coffee, milk, chocolate… jams, honey, cheese… bread, sometimes Berber pancakes.
Lunches usually starts with a cup of mint tea, assorted salads, and a hot dish, fruits,… (Vegetables are washed, peeled).
Dinner, starts off with soup and bread. The main course is usually rice, pasta, couscous, spaghetti or chips, with a vegetable stew (or tagine) consisting of some of the following – onion, potato, carrot, green pepper, zucchini, turnip, parsnip, green beans, and peas. There will be some meat (usually chicken, lamb or beef), however meat is not prominent in the menu. All dishes come with traditional sauces which are rarely (spicy) hot. To round off dinner, there is the usual range of hot drinks and some fruits.

Unfortunately, we may not always be able to accommodate special dietary needs due to the nature of our trips and the area we visit. During Draa valley desert trek, the group will spend two nights in a riad or hotel in Marrakesh and one night in Ait Benhaddou on an en-suite basis. While there are a range of high-end hotels in Marrakesh, we try to strike the right balance of a comfortable and conveniently located base while maintaining a really good value holiday. While trekking, we have 5 nights in a camping.
If you are traveling by yourself, you will be paired up with another single client of the same sex. Single hotel rooms and/or single rooms and single tent are available for a supplementary cost. If you are planning on extending your holiday, additional nights at the group hotel or in a range of different hotels and riads in Ouarzazate and Marrakesh are available on request.
The group will be led by a professional and qualified tour leader proficient in English or another language of your preference, depending on the confirmation date. Additionally, the group will be supported by a full trek crew, which includes a cook responsible for preparing our meals, as well as baggage animals (camels), and their handlers..

It is customary for the group to collectively decide on the final amount of tips to be distributed among the guide, cook, and porters, as their responsibilities differ. We suggest that approximately £55 per group member would be an appropriate amount to ensure fair compensation, which you can give directly to them.
